Tony Curtis & Associates Inc. is actively interviewing for the position of Accountant for a well-established and growing manufacturer of apparel accessories, selling wholesale into US retail locations, located in Southwest Oakville. Job duties include:
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions
• Process vendor invoices and payments
• Post customer payments and track/collect past due amounts
• Check and post employee expenses
• Bank and account reconciliations and account analysis
• Prepare sales and other internal reports
• Post month-end accrual and journal entries
• Preparation of schedules supporting sales tax/corporate tax/payroll tax
• Track employee time off
• Calculate commissions for salesperson
• Calculate and prepare license royalty payments and quarterly reporting
• Run bank errands
• Responsible for ordering office supplies
• Maintain and update customer files
• General administration and support to our US & Canada office.
• Other support as needed
Qualifications include:
• 3+ years accounting experience
• Experience in the wholesale selling retail business preferable
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
• High attention to detail
• Strong customer service skills and experience
• Self-Motivated
• Experience with ERP system, preferably with Quick Books desktop and Netsuite
• Excellent time management, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working in multi-currencies
• Ability to work beyond and outside of normal working hours to meet business needs
• Willingness and ability to adapt to organizational changes affecting the role
