Tony Curtis & Associates Inc. is actively interviewing for a Technical Designer role for a prominent client with internal resources in Asia. In this role you will excel at evaluating and confirming/improving product fit, quality, and workmanship. With your excellent communications skills you will ensure that all Vendors and Business Partners consistently meet all standards set by Mass Market Clients.
The ideal candidate will bring 4-5 years of similar experience with men’s/ladies/kids garment fit, construction and size to this role. Responsibilities:
· Work with Senior Technical Designer/Merchandiser to develop accurate detailed specification packages following Brand direction.
· Evaluate samples, identify fit & quality problems & recommend appropriate solutions
· Analyze and resolve manufacturing construction issues by communicating with appropriate parties
· Work with internal stakeholders, troubleshooting & anticipating possible problems in production to minimize quality & fit issues.
· Regularly review base size specifications, grade rules, & figure types to ensure customer satisfaction & company objectives.
· Explore and analyze new and efficient methods/standards to improve production cycle and garment quality.
· Ensure all internal Technical Packages and communications (our client has a sourcing office based in China), with factories & business associates adhere to the quality & fit standards.
· Adhere to the development & production cycle/timelines to ensure all product deadlines are achieved
· Research & evaluate market seasonally for fit, construction & quality
Qualifications:
· Post Secondary education in a Fashion Design Program or equivalent is required
· Experienced in patternmaking, draping, grading, garment construction & factory production.
· Knowledge of fabric & yarn construction techniques & finishes.
· Strong administrative and computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Knowledge of garment & fabric testing
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Excellent time management & project skills with abilities to follow up and complete assignments within tight deadlines.
· 4+ years of industry experience required – garment sizing, fit, construction, workmanship, patternmaking and sewing techniques.
