Tony Curtis & Associates Inc. is interviewing for the position of Sewing Supervisor for a leading manufacturer of athletic uniforms and apparel. The ideal candidate will take pride in their craft and be passionate about detail. You will bring 10+ plus years of Apparel and Manufacturing experience to this role combined with a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience. The Sewing Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and planning the activities of the sewing floor, providing leadership and ensuring team members are performing at a high level and reaching daily targets. Key Responsibilities:

o Review the Production Schedule daily and plan work for the line

o Review the approved Sample with the Manual before production start

o Work with the Industry Engineering Techs to calculate the manpower requirement and balance lines for optimum output.

o Identify Training requirements for each section/ line and coordinate with Training Supervisor

o Review low performance (Efficiency & Quality) and create action plans for improvements.

o Provide a safe environment within the department and Manufacturing floor

o Request Time studies to be done on a timely basis

o Ensure all Production boards are up to date with accurate information for all.

o Review reports and make decisions in a timely manner

o Review regularly with maintenance staff to ensure all equipment is in working condition and used for the right operation

o Continuously find ways to improve the process flow to maximize output.

o Communicate and update direct reports for business updates/ Union grievances/ Management decisions.


Experience, Education and Designations:

o Over 10 years of Apparel Manufacturing experience

o 5 years of experience in a supervisory position (Preferably in Apparel Industry)

o Ability to sew and follow Manual


Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

o Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people

o Must be familiar with Sewing operations and Machines (industrial type)

o Ability to read and write in English

o Able to prioritize and delegate work

o Update Management periodically with solutions/ action

o Must be familiar with computers and business software such as MS Office, Excel,


Working Conditions:

o Manufacturing Environment

o Able to Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
