Tony Curtis & Associates Inc. is currently interviewing for the position of Product Manager of Hard Goods, in the Richmond Hill area. Our client is a well-established leading brand selling consumer goods sourced overseas to Canadian & US retailers, leading some of the largest global brands through the product development process from inception to sale.
This position offers an engaging opportunity for a dynamic leader passionate about retail/wholesale operations. Candidates should possess a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills to succeed as a Product Manager.

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• University / College degree or equivalent – (5-7) years work experience
• Fluent in common business software applications (Microsoft Excel / Outlook / Word / PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication skills are a must – role requires constant interaction with internal/external partners
• Ability to work effectively with team members across departments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills requiring high attention to detail
• Time management and organization skills are paramount
• Industry experience with the following clients is considered a huge asset: Loblaw, Dollarama, Walmart, Canadian Tire
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Controlling Licensed brand and Private brand development of consumer-packaged goods to Canadian Retailers
• Responsible for the entire product development lifecycle while managing B2B relationships with retailers, manufacturers, marketing and other internal and external teams involved with new product launches
• Steers end-to-end product development and marketing lifecycle from initial customer presentation and creative through to sourcing, costing, production, distribution and quality control
• Manage product from concept, to design, sample production, testing, forecasting, cost, mass production, promotion, and support as well as product end of life
• Continually source new product and manufacturers while maintaining and negotiating competitive costs on current and new products
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure new product offerings are reviewed while ensuring supplier costing provided is competitive based on current economic trends
• Aiding marketing efforts to ensure all product features, characteristics and traits meet consumer demands and fit into retail product gaps
• Lead and coordinate with internal art department to generate product designs, treatments and in-store product packaging components that ensure on-brand delivery of all creative elements within the guidelines of private label product
• Attend industry tradeshow events as both product sourcing agent and internal product manager
• Review quality, durability and functionality testing performed on product at regular cycles to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Service the needs of major retailers daily to ensure information and documentation is provided for the products supplied to them
• Provide sales support material and coordinate presentations with sales team
• Keen understanding of why the company is winning/losing in the market and abilities to drive changes to product and processes to create improvement
