Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to ensure their global manufacturing and supply chain operations adhere to retailer requirements, warehouse shipping guidelines, and internal quality standards. This role is critical to maintaining organizational standards, product integrity, and managing regulatory and sourcing documentation. Key Responsibilities:
Retailer & Supply Chain Compliance
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all retailer compliance requirements, proactively interpreting and communicating updates to internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
• Ensure all factories adhere to specific retailer social compliance, safety, and operational audits and standards (e.g., specific factory certifications, testing protocols).
• Develop, implement, and monitor robust processes to ensure all shipping and packaging methods are fully compliant with individual retailer and third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse guidelines (e.g., labeling, pallet configuration, advanced shipping notice (ASN) accuracy).
Product Quality & Standards
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to establish and enforce rigorous product quality standards across all manufacturing sites.
• Conduct or oversee periodic in-factory quality inspections to ensure compliance with material specifications, construction methods, and finished goods criteria.
• Manage product testing requirements, ensuring all goods meet applicable regulatory and safety standards for the intended markets.
Documentation & Traceability
• Establish and maintain an impeccable paper trail and documentation system for specialized materials, including: Recycled/Sustainable Goods, Tracking and verifying certifications, chain of custody, and content claims. Unique Source Leather: Ensuring proper documentation of origin, tanning processes, and ethical sourcing standards.
• Oversee the management of factory audit reports, compliance certifications, and vendor agreements.
Travel & Sourcing
• Regularly travel overseas (estimated 5-6 times a year) to conduct factory and warehouse audits, perform compliance training, and build strong working relationships with factory management.
• Engage in potential material and vendor sourcing activities, ensuring new partners meet the company’s high standards for quality, ethics, and sustainability compliance from the outset.
Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, or supply chain management within the consumer goods or retail industry (e.g., apparel, accessories, home goods).
• Deep understanding of retailer compliance programs (e.g., Walmart, Target, Amazon, specialty retailers) and supply chain logistics.
• Proven experience managing factory social and quality audits (e.g., Sedex, BSCI, WRAP, ISO).
• Exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail in documentation management.
• Familiarity with traceability requirements for sustainable/recycled materials and/or ethical sourcing (leather or similar materials a plus).
• Ability to travel internationally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly conveying complex compliance requirements to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
