Accounts Payable Specialist

Tony Curtis & Associates Inc.is immediately interviewing experienced candidates for an Accounts Payable Specialist role for a leading fashion accessories brand in the Dufferin & Lawrence area. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounts Payable Specialist will bring 5 years related experience, and is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable processing, vendor payment coordination, and maintaining accurate financial records ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities:

  • Process full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice coding, entry, and verification

  • Perform two-way matching between purchase orders and invoices and resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain vendor master records and accounts payable files

  • Coordinate invoice approvals with internal departments

  • Prepare and process vendor payments including cheques, EFTs, and wire transfers

  • Record accounting transactions related to imported goods, including duties, brokerage fees, and taxes

  • Support month-end close, including reconciliations, prepaid expense adjustments, and credit card reconciliations

  • Review aged payables and investigate outstanding items regularly

  • Reconcile vendor accounts as required

  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner

  • Manage the employee expense reporting process, including submission review and payment processing

  • Maintain organized records for audit and internal documentation requests

  • Assist with special accounting projects as required

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office

  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems

  • Strong data entry and financial record management skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

  • Effective written and verbal communication

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional office environment

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • 5 years experience in similiar role

Education:

· College Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, finance or Business Administration equivalent
