Tony Curtis & Associates Inc.is immediately interviewing experienced candidates for an Accounts Payable Specialist role for a leading fashion accessories brand in the Dufferin & Lawrence area. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounts Payable Specialist will bring 5 years related experience, and is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable processing, vendor payment coordination, and maintaining accurate financial records ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities:
Process full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice coding, entry, and verification
Perform two-way matching between purchase orders and invoices and resolve discrepancies
Maintain vendor master records and accounts payable files
Coordinate invoice approvals with internal departments
Prepare and process vendor payments including cheques, EFTs, and wire transfers
Record accounting transactions related to imported goods, including duties, brokerage fees, and taxes
Support month-end close, including reconciliations, prepaid expense adjustments, and credit card reconciliations
Review aged payables and investigate outstanding items regularly
Reconcile vendor accounts as required
Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Manage the employee expense reporting process, including submission review and payment processing
Maintain organized records for audit and internal documentation requests
Assist with special accounting projects as required
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
Strong data entry and financial record management skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Effective written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional office environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
5 years experience in similiar role
Education:
· College Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, finance or Business Administration equivalent
