The Opportunity: Junior/Intermediate Designer - Textiles Designer

Tony Curtis & Associates Inc. is currently interviewing for the position of Designer – Textiles and or Graphic, Junior/Intermediate level, for a well established and innovative leader in fabric print and design. An ability to illustrate, or Degree or Diploma in fine Arts is a mandatory requirement for this position. Experience with the preparation of print files for production is a must. The ideal candidate will have the ability to self-motivate and take initiative, be service driven with the ability to multi-task with attention to detail. You will implement skillful product designs and ideas from concept to reality, monitoring times and due dates, and enjoy hands-on experience with designers and vendors.
Note to Applicants: Demonstrated FINE ART skills and textile print experience of 1 to 2 years are requirements for this position. Examples of Portrait/landscape/wildlife, as well as examples for scale, vector, and showing experience in set up of files for Production runs. Graphic Tee design skills are not required for this position. Those without Fine Art drawing skills will not be considered or receive a response.

Responsibilities:
· Create and illustrate original art life, landscape, wildlife, abstract surface designs, illustrations, prints and/or patterns exclusive for assigned art collections
· Create design presentations, vector patterns, artwork scale
· Manage all colour submissions for review and approval by Management (Pantone color matching is a bonus)
· Present samples of finished designs to Design Manager
· Review samples and submissions at all stages, ensure critical art/product requirements are met and communicate all revisions
· Research collection trends, themes, and concepts to develop and demonstrate a clear perspective for the collections
Qualifications:
· Degree or Diploma in Fine Arts/Graphic Design
· 1 to 2 years of related experience
· Strong knowledge of Desk Top Publishing, Photoshop and Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
· ART LIFE, drawing skills are job requirements
· Savvy sense of textile design and color
· Solid understanding of pattern repeats
· Strong organizational skills
· Good communication skills
· Be able to take direction
· Work well in a team environment
· Strong work ethic
· Design portfolio
· Presentation skills
Employment Type: Full-time in house 5 days per week.
