Description :

The Retail Director will have ownership and accountability for the Canadian Retail operations. The incumbent will drive significant financial growth in productivity ($PSF) and profitability of retail network (O&O and franchise - mainline & outlets) and enhance brand equity of client’s brands through effective management and execution of retail strategy and strong leadership of overall Canadian retail business. Acts as a strong cross functional partner to advocate, develop and implement programs and initiatives for stores and field leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Drive profitable strategic expansion of retail in Canada (O&O and Franchise) • Drive “best in class” retail performance ($PSF, level 1 EBIT, units/revenues, etc.) across Canada and O&O/Franchise network • Lead and manage overall retail team to exceed financial targets & brand building objectives • Motivate/inspire team through continuous coaching, performance development and career planning • Sales revenue, EBITA, GP ($PSF) • Store and channel AFP per objective setting & achievement

Leadership/Communication • Execute Canada retail strategy: achieve financial objectives within the retail mainline and outlet stores (O&O/Franchise) • Drive location strategy for Canada (broker, real estate leadership relationship) • Lead and manage overall retail team to exceed financial/strategic targets • Partner/communicate/manage effectively internal (cross-functional – IT, merchandising, planning, ops, pan-regional) and external partners (franchisees, 3rd party vendors, etc.) • Motivate/inspire team through continuous coaching, performance development and career planning • Develop/execute any regional/global communication needs (e.g., global retail forum presentation, QBR) • Accountable for leading/managing annual (AFP) and strategic (SBP) planning process for Canadian retail by store and all stores. • Lead 300+ store employees • Responsibility for Franchise agreements

Product/Merchandising/Planning/Allocation • Collaborate closely with Merchant team to ensure appropriate assortment developed, allocated and distributed to Canada stores • Monitor trends, consumer needs/behavior to identify gaps in assortment needs and work closely with Canada Merchant and Planning teams to fill gaps • Collaborate with Canada team and SF based support departments in planning, distribution/allocation for Canada stores.

Operational Excellence • Drive consistent execution of strategic objectives and financial plans across country through: o Thorough understanding of business drivers and strategies o Clear communication of priorities and standards o Assessment and development of stores talent base o Strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners o Develop an authentic, engaging customer service culture that embodies company values • Work with franchise partner and Canada team to drive KPI improvements in store performance across retail network, including: o Frequent visits to stores o Problem-solving with district managers/store managers on how to drive further improvements in performance o Continuous review of KPI metrics and coaching/feedback o Collaborate with LSA Retail ops team to adopt/adapt tools and execute training of all store staff o Work with Canada & SF HQ to resolve any bottle-necks at store (e.g., IT challenges, attrition, distribution, etc.) • Consistently deliver the ultimate expression of the brand across the country through o Strong merchandising that maximizes sales o Flawless execution against visual merchandising directions o Strong representation of Client Style by store staff o Neat, clean and tidy stores
Financials • Accountable for the Annual Financial Plan and Strategic Business Plan. This includes forecasting, P/L Management and weekly business performance management and other key financial metrics.

Skills :

• 7+ years Specialty Retail Mgmt./minimum 3+ years multi-unit responsibilities preferably in apparel retail industry or BA equivalent combination of education and experience. • Retail skills; Preference for a deep understanding of the retail business; retail understanding of Vertically Integrated Specialty Stores required (at minimum) • Merchandising • Planning/allocation/distribution • Store operations/Field leadership • Real estate • Store design/retail marketing/visual merchandising • Knowledge of franchise relationships and agreements • Ability to coach, motivate, lead cross-functionally • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Flexible, highly motivated, creative thinker • Persistent Optimist • People developer and leadership abilities • Strong desire to win
