Our client is a leading children’s and women’s apparel brand. Operating 30 corporate stores and sell to better boutiques and department stores throughout North America, Europe and Australia.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Support senior Product developers in their efforts to build new styles, communicate fit comments, solve garment construction issues and maintain clear and consistent communication with vendors.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Measure all incoming samples accurately, analyze construction/fit/trims and comment clearly.
• Conduct fit sessions with the Product Development and Design Team.
• Communicate design, fit and construction issues to vendors.
• Create and release new development Technical Packages using Gerber Yunique PLM
• Able to build new style specifications, process all pre-production sample comments and maintain existing fits/style standards.
• Sketch new designs and/or edit design details on existing sketches
• Be flexible and able to assist team on design related issues as they arise ie: photoshoots, parcel shipping, etc...




Required Skills and education:

The successful candidate must:

• Have 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in ladies or children’s wear.
• An understanding of garment construction and fit.
• Be comfortable working with garment specs in inches and be able to resolve spec discrepancies.
• Proficient in Abode Illustrator, Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook
• Understanding or knowledge of Gerber PLM platform an asset.
• Understanding of pattern drafting, draping and garment construction methods
• Be able to sew and draft
• Be able to identify and articulate fit and style issues
• Ability to critically think about a styles successes and failures and make suggestions to improve fit, style and construction.
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Be motivated and a self-starter
