Description :

Position Packaging Designer / Web Designer

As Packaging and Web Designer, you will be:

• Working closely with the product development team
• Creating packaging, (hang tags, wash / care labels, and product display units) for a wide variety of customers and SKUs
• Creating die lines for packaging and complex, freestanding corrugate product displayers
• Manage packaging development through production with overseas factories
• Work closely with the Product development team to create, edit and format corporate marketing materials to meet sales-based communication goals (Powerpoint, InDesign)
• Develop cutting-edge design concepts, graphics and layouts
• Recreate and enhance logos
• Design event promotional kits and signage for trade shows and showroom
• Maintain corporate website, social media campaigns, and design e-blasts
• Work with senior management to create packaging for stock deals
• Work closely with the Creative Design Lead to create and execute graphics for desktop, web and print
• Responsible for delivering client-ready material within specified time frames
• Take high-resolution product photographs and lifestyle photographs for POS display
• Edit photographs to industry standard for catalogue, digital distribution and print materials
• Build and maintain the packaging resource library (digital and print)

Skills :

Must Have Skills / Qualifications:

•A degree in either Graphic Design or Visual Communication
•2-4 years experience working with packaging development
•Valid drivers’ license
•Excellent initiative, ability to learn quickly and work independently
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to set priorities
•Ability to manage conflicting project demands and thrive in a fast-paced role
•Must be flexible and able to work under pressure with extremely tight deadlines and able to work flex hours including weekend work and overtime as necessary
•Comfortable in a small, intense and high-growth environment
•Strong desire to work as a team and work towards the overall goals of the department and organization
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English and French, ability to proofread and write copy with advanced knowledge of spelling, grammar, punctuation and use of style manuals.
•Candidate will be working in a PC environment and should have spent the majority of their most recent experience on this platform
• Expert knowledge of CS6 (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel) to help sales department.
• Experience creating PowerPoint presentations from start to finish is a must
• Experience creating die lines for PDQs and product packaging
• Strong knowledge of colour and typography
• Understanding of print production processes; ability to prepare files for press and digital printing, operate large-format printers for printing colour approvals. Pre-press knowledge is essential
• Experience developing digital content (websites, promotional elements, newsletters, social posts)
• Experience in WordPress, PHP, Mail chimp a bonus
• Interest in photography
• Knowledge of social and digital media trends
