Description :

Our Client has an exciting opportunity with tremendous growth potential as Director of Manufacturing for their GTA West, Ontario facility. The successful candidate will be a member of the senior management leadership group, which directs all aspects of the company. As well, this position will be a key member of the ‘new building’ team, as the company transitions into a new facility at the end of 2019. The position reports to US Board of Directors

• Oversee all production management to ensure continuous improvement of all production processes
• Maintain our high company standards of quality assurance
• Administer efficient production scheduling to balance factory and meet delivery requirements
• Manage production staffing levels to maximize production efficiencies and cost compliance
• Reduce costs where opportunities exist without impacting productivity or quality
• Manage new product development and made-to-measure alteration processes
• Ensure timely shipments of all products throughout Canada and the USA on a daily basis.
• Minimize production downtime through continuous preventative maintenance of all facilities, machinery and equipment
• Manage all new equipment purchases, including needs assessment, researching options and ROI calculations
• Develop a strong-working relationship with the union to maintain a cohesive team
• Create team spirit through accomplishment of long and short term goals
• Ensure compliance of all aspects of health & safety

Departmental Responsibilities:
• Design/pattern making/made-to-measure alterations
• Production planning and order issuing
• Cutting room manager, including fabric warehouse and marker maker departments
• Production manager of coat and pant shops, which includes all sewing and pressing areas
• Quality assurance manager
• Sewing and general machine mechanics
• Building maintenance and steam engineers
• Distribution department

Skills :

• 5-10 years of experience in tailored men’s clothing manufacturing at the management level
• Result oriented proven leader
• Strategic thinker
• Problem solver
• Hard working, diligent and highly motivated
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and AS400 platform (a plus)
• Degree in Business Management or a related field
