About this role:
The Product Development Coordinator is an important part of the Product Development team. The PD Coordinator position is responsible for the development process through the management of samples, tracking milestones, updating communication logs and corresponding with vendors and internal stakeholders. The PD Coordinator position is key to maintaining a well-organized studio environment. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to resolve problems and to complete tasks that positively impact organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Request, track and receive product samples from factories
Daily correspondence with overseas suppliers, including sending specs to factories
Create and update specs in Adobe Illustrator based on established templates Update final presentations in Adobe Illustrator based on established templates
Maintain communication logs for vendor quotes, product details and design related comments throughout the development process
Collect and organize all samples throughout the development process in dockets, including new projects/programs and rejected/approved samples for production
Follow up on sample development and approval status
Review and quality check product samples and send to clients through suggested courier services
Communicate with Sales Coordinators on sample call outs to the client
Help in showroom styling and showroom organization
Organization and maintenance of pantry samples as well as archiving of older samples
Maintain product library for final approved samples and lab submissions
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
2-3 years working experience in a product development role, preferably in textiles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Experience working with PMS for textiles and home products
Knowledge and proficiency with MS Office applications
Knowledge and proficiency with Adobe Illustrator
Experience with Adobe Photoshop an asset
Highly organized
Extremely detailed
Works independently as well as part of a team
Has a positive attitude and a good team spirit
Enjoys diversity and a dynamic work environment
Ability to multitask
Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
Design sensibility and able to follow trends
