The Opportunity: Junior Accountant
Location: Burl Oak & QEW
Salary: 50-55K

Tony Curtis & Associates has an immediate opening for a Junior accountant for an accessory design company working with major retailers from Bloomingdales to Walmart. If you are a results orientated, highly organized, and energetic self-starter who enjoys working in a small and dynamic office environment then this is a terrific opportunity to use and build upon your experience. One to three years of demonstrated experience is required for this role.
Position Overview: The ideal candidate will support and assist the Controller with various tasks as required including month end/year end functions, and will support and perform Order Processing duties and obligations categorized below in job related responsibilities.
Responsibilities of this role include, and are not limited to, assisting Controller with the following:
Full cycle accounting functions including, cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and payroll
Month-end closing process and reporting tasks including variance analyses
Year-end compliance reviews and income tax filings
Posting government reporting and remittances, including WISB, EHT, HST/GST and income tax
• Working with team members to resolve operations issues
• Order processing/customer service to ensure timely and correct billings
• Reviewing purchase orders
• Office administration for both Canadian and US office
• Order entry; 80% EDI and balance manual
• Working with warehouse and logistics to ensure timely shipping of orders
• Ensuring 3PL processes are accurate and timely
• Preparing and reconciling sales and inventory reports
• Updating internal price lists
• Annual budget and weekly sales projections
• Maintaining IT and system hardware, and performing additional tasks where required
Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience with EDI and ERP system
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Excellent time management, problem solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exposure to US operations and foreign currency management
