The Opportunity: Merchandiser/Sourcing Associate
Location: Richmond Hill

In this role you will be responsible for executing procurement strategies to deliver on the finance and sales operational plan, apparel development, confirming inventory availability for orders, sourcing follow-up, delivering on quality requirements, vendor follow-up, and maintaining the sourcing process.
Responsibilities include:
Execution of Sourcing and Merchandising – this includes working with an Apparel Development Team based in Toronto and a Production and Sourcing Team based in China.
Follow up on sourcing functions from China Vendors as well as out of China Vendors.
Collaborating with the Product Design Team to source and merchandise the product collection for the client’s line of product offerings.
Executing full-cycle sourcing process – From monitoring inventory, delivery from vendors, product technical specifications, product costing, sample development to bulk production to delivery - you will collaborate with the team to ensure all information regarding costing, delivery, and quality are adhered to.
Maintaining strong follow-up with overseas vendors.
Work with the Sourcing Team to creatively problem solve, execute sourcing of products that meet the quality requirements of the Product Team and the price targets of the Finance team.
Execute Out of China Production and Sourcing while offering creative solutions for resolving technical problems as well as production problems.
Education:
?Industry related Degree or Diploma in Fashion
About You:
3 years’ experience in garment textile sourcing (follow up/execution) as well as formal educational background in textiles and garment production.
Track record of managing effective technical and merchandising information required by in-house team as well as vendors.
Good technical knowledge of textile and garment production.
Strong collaborative problem solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
